The primary objective of the Assistant Vice President of Quality is to ensure outstanding agent and customer satisfaction by delivering digital functionality of the highest quality across both agile and waterfall development environments.

You will lead the QA activities on a wide range of technology initiatives within our portfolio. You will help to ensure outstanding quality in our highly dynamic third party owned applications and/or platforms for our various business lines.

The role is a key leader and influencer reporting to the SVP of Retail and Digital Technology.  Accountability includes defining QA strategic direction, ensuring execution of quality assurance best practices and automation initiatives across the entire technology organization, business lines, and with our third party administrators. 

This role will NOT be writing test scripts, executing test cases, or programming test automation.  This role WILL educate key business stakeholders about appropriate strategies, methodologies, tactics, and execution of a robust quality assurance program.  This role will be responsible for assisting and influencing in appropriate test planning, test coverage, test automation, build out of test environments, test data beds, tooling, and other needs based upon assessment of our current quality assurance landscape both at Global Atlantic as well as our third party administrators.  This role will be responsible for measuring and improving Global Atlantic quality assurance.


  • Lead and manage the internal and distributed QA, release, program, and project management teams, ensuring successful product and project delivery in a predictable and high-quality manner.
  • Provide innovative and seasoned direction in test driven software development and QA.
  • Regularly interface with senior leadership and represent functional Quality Assurance goals in context of broader organizational aspirations.
  • Define and implement internal and third party administrator QA best practices.
  • Lead the definition, execution, and maintenance of standard QA processes, methodologies, and documentation across the SDLC.
  • Provide guidance and direction to team members to adopt new tools, achieve goals and improve overall quality of our technology solutions.
  • Develop QA roadmap, dashboard, and track progress and improvement.
  • Influence our third party administrators to adopt QA best practices, improve quality outcomes by establishing expectations for Quality Assurance and measuring performance of quality delivery, and influence internal stakeholders about the importance of quality delivery.
  • Define and implement world-class quality engineering processes spanning the entire software development cycle.
  • Drive adoption of standardized tools, processes, best practices to achieve improved levels of automation at our third party administrators with internal stakeholders.
  • Establish, improve, measure and report on QA KPI’s, quality methodology and processes for all of Global Atlantics retail technology and digital programs.
  • Work with key stakeholders to design, implement, and execute product a strong QA program aligned with overall business goals.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • 5+ years of Quality Assurance practice management, with 10+ years of experience in the software testing domain.
  • Strong understanding, knowledge and experience with software design and architecture, programming languages, databases, and tools across various disciplines (e.g.; mainframe, distributed, web, etc.), and release management, build engineering, and program management.
  • Demonstrated experience in driving large scale adoption of process and standardization across the product lifecycle with deep understanding of various tools and technology available for software lifecycle management.
  • Demonstrated experience in driving automation and efficiency initiatives.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with and lead teams in multiple locations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - able to understand and convey complex requirements or technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences and C-level stakeholders.
  • Metrics driven hands-on management style.
  • This role is a key influence within the Global Atlantic technology organization. The candidate will not initially have direct reports, however will need to be able to influence internal stakeholders and external partners/vendors to improve Quality Assurance capabilities, methodologies, and build a scalable Quality Assurance program over time.
  • Bachelor’s degree

  • CSTE, CSTP, CTM, QTP, ISTQB or other relevant software testing certifications
