The Technical Lead will partner with Actuarial and Finance teams to provide strategy, problem-solving, technical architecture, and technical project management for IT corporate systems.  This position will be accountable for identifying key business changes and implementing the developing technical solutions as needed. Key responsibilities will include the following:

  • Provide technical advice and guidance to assigned business area teams
  • Serve as technical project manager for various projects
  • Partner with business and third party administrators to design and implement technical solutions supporting underlying business processes
  • Participate in developing IT Governance processes and adherence to them.
  • Responsible for the entire lifecycle of IT Solutions, including regular maintenance, patching, updates, and fixes
  • Manages all aspects of the technical activities (including software development requirements, architectural requirements, hardware, technical models, vendor interaction, technical designs, etc.) and ensures the systems/applications align with the overall architecture and infrastructure
  • Participate in testing and verification of technical solutions
  • Communicates the effectiveness and task progress of the technical project team members
  • Provides proper training and support after implementation to ensure proper knowledge transfer to given business units.
  • Controls solution by establishing specifications, and coordinating implementation with technical teams.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.


  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT related field or similar combination or education and experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT or strong technical background.
  • Experience in architecture and implementing technical solutions.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and consulting skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, matrix environment.
  • Experience with common data manipulation libraries such as numpy, scipy, and pandas.
  • Good understanding of OO principles and system architecture.
  • Experience working with distributed systems.
  • A Demonstrated understanding of Actuarial and Finance business functions preferred.
