The Global Atlantic Operations team is seeking an experienced instructional designer to lead our development efforts for our retirement annuity products, processes, and customer-facing positions. This Designer will be accountable for developing effective and engaging instructional materials for instructor-led, self-directed, virtual classroom, web-based, and/or blended learning platforms as well as measuring the outcome. We prefer this position to be located in our Batesville, IN, Simsbury, CT, or Des Moines, IA office locations and will consider a remote position.  Key responsibilities include: 

  • Design and develop learning materials—Facilitator Guides, Participant Guides, PowerPoint presentations and e-learning presentations, Quick Reference Guides, Job Aids, and Audio/Video scripts for onsite and remote delivery
  • Create and maintain reference tools
  • Develop modular asynchronous training
  • Work collaboratively with internal team members to conduct needs analyses that identify knowledge and performance gaps
  • Analyze product source content, target audience demographics, job tasks, and learner environment to identify learning objectives and appropriate instructional strategies
  • Develop and provide measures of learning effectiveness, retention, and efficiency.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in education, communications, business or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum eight (8) years of related experience in instructional design; an emphasis in operations processing and call center experience preferred
  • Knowledge of instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles, human behavior and performance, methods for curriculum and training design, and the measurement of training effectiveness
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and Articulate 360 to support instructional design
  • Proficiency with asynchronous training and distance learning tools and techniques
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Highly effective time and project management skills  with the ability to organize, prioritize, coordinate, and implement multiple projects
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Experience with Annuities or Annuity knowledge a plus
